27 Herr Rotenberg's Herd
The
experiences of an investigative writer and four abducted women are followed as
they discover the machinations of powerful international underground criminal
organization is involved in the trafficking of women at many levels in Europe.
The organization turns out to be nearly 100 years old and is controlled by old
European money. Taking advantage of the economic and political chaos in Europe
after the fall of the Soviet Union, The Konzern, as it is known, expands its
reach. Seen as a possible threat, the freelance writer is offered exclusive
access to the organization and its covert facilities in an attempt to control
what he plans to write. Four abducted women are followed through the
organizations well organized "extra-legal" system of obtaining new
"commodities" to feed its international network of brothels as well
as produce very valuable specialty products. The writer is conducted on tours
by the managers of several of The Konzern's facilities. One is where they
accept and process recently acquired specimens. They begin their psychological
conditioning, and are sorted for assignment to different divisions within the
organization for which they are best suited.
The second facility the writer tours is focused on psychological conditioning to ensure the subjects accept their new roles and are completely compliant and tractable. He is also given access to new experimental techniques and equipment in development.
The writer is surprised to find that they have an in-house breeding program to augment the females they acquire by extra legal means. The Konzern is big on sustainability and a large portion of their funding comes from the self-stainable herd of lactating female specimens specially selected for their mammary size and out put. He sees this first hand at the processing center. Some of his unanswered questions that are only addressed when he finally meets the owner, Herr Rotenberg.
Two of the four women were abducted from a hostel in Europe by procurers presenting themselves as fellow travelers. The other pair are abducted while attending a rave in New York City by two Hungarians posing as exchange students. The four women disappear into the system and are roughly handled by their abductors as they are spirited across international borders and on to one of The Konzern's acceptance centers. We see the processing and conditioning through their eyes. They undergo hormonal therapy to help them bond to their captors and to change their physiology. Subjected to Pavlovian and Operant conditioning, they emerge as completely different creatures totally conformant and compliant to serving the greater good of The Konzern.
