23 Krampus the Yuletide Terror

23  Krampus the Yuletide Terror

This tells the tale of Krampus, the antithesis of Saint Claus. Ubelum Suprator Krampus a Germanic Legionnaire of the Caesar's Legions in Palestine. He was at the crucifixion of the self proclaimed Christ and helps with his burial. Later he has a tryst with the harlot Mary of Magdalene who repays him for his kindness. But her gift is more of a curse. He becomes immortal, and afflicted with a never ending carnal lust. His curse is to punish those who violate the Church of Christ's rules on fidelity and morality. Every Christmas Eve, whilst his alter ego visits those who have kept faith with the Christ, Krampus, visits those who have not. He abducts them in chains, young and old, and takes them deep into the icy north woods where they are sorted, some to serve as pleasure slaves, others to labor in the shops, and others led to the clearing in the pines. Work in the shops magnifies the feelings the condemned have inside and soon their bodies become as twisted, stunted and ugly as the feelings they harbor in their hearts. They become dwarfish ogres. It is not elves who labor and toil endlessly to supply Sainted Claus with is gifts. It is the condemned enslaved dwarves. The pleasure slaves keep the dwarves happy and are kept for so long as Krampus desires them and they serve their purpose. As the centuries pass, the numbers of true believers dwindle in Europe, belief in Sainted Claus and Krampus becomes an anachronism. Krampus decides to move to where the numbers of true believers in the Christ still allows him to carry out the mission for which he has been awarded immortality. He moves to Latin America where Catholicism, superstition, amorality and violence all coexist in proportions that allow him to continue his mission in the modern world until the Christ returns.
